Automotive Air Bag Testing Instruments

Automotive air bag testing is a efficient guarantee for more accurate, reactive and reliable performance of air bag. Air bag is one of the passive protection systems for automotives, which is directly linked to passenger safety.
According to traffic accident analysis, two thirds of car crush accidents are happening in front of cars; therefore, front air bag system is more broadly applied.
In order to have better performance, air bag design, development and manufacture are all very important. The contents are as follows:
1. Automotive Air Bag Permeation Testing
The material of automotive air bag is a laminated film of rubber and nylon. Air bag is filled with helium when working.
The rapid filling of air bag is of great importance. It is a must for the passenger to be stopped by the fast filled bag which can also exhaust promptly. Therefore, excellent and proper permeation performance of air bag is very important.
Labthink DM 2/330 Differential and Equal Pressure Method Gas Permeability Tester can test film and laminated materials including air bag laminated material. This tester can execute differential pressure and equal pressure in the same chamber. Three specimens can be tested simultaneously in 3 chambers. Poisonous, explosive and other gases can be tested as well. The temperature control range is 5C-95C, which is very convenient to test the permeability performance of airbag during storage and when triggered by heat.
2. Automotive Air Bag Smoothness and Open Easiness Tests
Good smoothness and open easiness of automotive air bag are vital to backup air bags and quick reaction when the passenger is in danger. The material of air bag is rubber coated nylon. In order to test air bag smoothness and open easiness, Labthink Instruments Co. Ltd introduces airbag testers as follows:
A. MXD Series of Coefficient of Friction Tester is applicable in static and kinetic coefficient of friction test to plastic film, foils, sheets and paper. Through testing the smoothness of the materials, airbag safety can be guaranteed to meet the demands. This series of products includes MXD-01, MXD-01A and MXD-02.
B. FTP-F1 Friction/Peel Tester: is computer control, and can test the material coefficient of friction between room temperature and 99.9 Centigrade as well as peeling strength of laminated films and adhesive products, which is very important to air bag testing.
3. Automotive Air Bag Tensile Testing and Impact Testing
Automotive air bag receives the signal from the sensor, and turns open within a few seconds so as to protect passenger. Since the open speed to its full is in a limited time of 0.3 seconds so as to resist shock and attack from the outside. Therefore, it is a must for air bag with good tensile performance.
In order to guarantee excellent tensile performance, Labthink Instruments Co. Ltd. introduces new series of tensile and impact testers according to international regulations and standards.
A. Labthink PARAM XLW Series Auto Tensile Testers can test tensile, deformation, tearing, pierce, peeling and other items for films, laminated films and flexible packaging materials, etc. Put the air bag specimen onto the clamps, set the testing speed and start testing.
B. Automotive Air Bag Impact Resistance Testing
At the very moment of air bag opening, it will make a space to release the forward strength of the passenger. Air bag impact performance control can prevent air bag breakage due to low flexibility so as to effectively avoid protection failure of low air bag quality. Usually, impact is tested with falling dart impact tester.
Labthink introduces new BMC-B1 Falling Dart Impact Tester to test air bag impact resistance by falling dart method. It is to test the relevant strength needed to tear the air bag material according to ASTM D 1709, JIS K 7124 and GB 9639, etc. The whole testing process is automatic; testing data are processed by minicomputer.
4. Automotive Air Bag Seal and Leak Testing Instruments
Automotive air bag should be filled instantly by the burning helium when the sensor got the emergency signal. Therefore, automotive air bag integrated seal and leak testing is an important index for automotive air bag quality. Labthink Instruments Co., Ltd. introduces PARAM Leak Tester to test air bag seal and leak performance.
Labthink PARAM MFY-01 Leak Tester determines whether the air bag meets the requirements through observation of emerged air bag in distilled water with inside-out pressure difference. This tester is of simple operation and micro-computer control. It complies with ASTM D3078 and GB/T 15171 and provides accurate data.
5. Automotive Air Bag Peeling Testing Instruments
Automotive air bag is made up of the outer nylon material and the inner rubber. Owing to the long-term storage for emergency, a long period of aging, good peeling resistance strength of the nylon and rubber layers is very important so as to avoid insufficient gas filling caused by rubber layer peeling.
Labthink Instruments Co. Ltd. introduces PARAM XLW series of auto tensile testers so as to meet the testing demand for air bag peeling. This tester is applicable to test tensile, peeling, deformation, tearing and adhesive strength of laminated films and adhesive tapes. PARAM XLW Series Auto Tensile Testers are mini-computer control, and can test multiple data with reliable and accurate results. These testers are equipped with professional software. Also, they are complying with ASTM, ISOFree Web Content, JIS and GB standards.

Carports Perth

Defensive Driving Tips

 The Essential Defensive Driving Tips
According to the National Safety Council, defensive driving is meant to save time, lives and money, regardless of the driving conditions around you and the actions of others on the road. Defensivedriving can be achieved by
  1. Adhering to various rules pertaining to driving
  2. Practicing specific driving techniques
Defensive driving aims at reducing the risk associated with driving.

Skills Used in Defensive Driving
Some of the skills and techniques that can help you in defensive driving are:
  1. Staying focused: While driving, you need to focus on several things, including the road conditions, traffic signals, your speed, road directions, the traffic around you, checking your rear and forward mirrors, while observing traffic laws. Distractions, such as talking to your co-passengers, eating or talking on the phone, can greatly reduce your focus on the driving and traffic situations. As a result, you may not be able to react to sudden problems on the road.
  2. Staying alert: Keeping alert at all times allows you to react quickly to unexpected problems. These problems could range from the last-minute application of brakes by the driver of a car in front of you to a child or an elderly person suddenly coming in front of your car.
  3. Assume the worst possible scenario: In defensive driving, you should think about the worst case scenario in every situation. For example, drivers following defensive driving techniques will expect a vehicle ahead of them to do the opposite of what he is indicating. They will also be cautious enough to assume that any red signals or stop signs will be ignored.
  4. Watch out for other drivers: Part of staying in control of your driving is to be aware of the traffic and drivers around you. This way there is a lower probability of you getting caught off-guard by an unexpected act of another driver. For example, a car speeding past you on the highway may have to suddenly change track to a lane in front of you if it encounters a slow-moving truck in the same lane. Anticipating the act of another driver may help you react in time.

These are some of the technique and skills taught in defensive driving courses. Due to huge public demand, several non-profit and government organizations offer this course offline and online. One of the leaders in the field is http://about-autos.blogspot.com/Find Article, which provides award-winning defensive driving courses in the form of edutainment.

Green Autos- New Generation Energy Efficient Automobiles

Green autos is ones of the most discussed topics right because global warming is really getting on our nerves. Standard cars emit a lot of pollution and hence damage the environment. Green cars are seen as an ideal solution to minimize the problem of air pollution. Every one is talking about going green these days. The media is vociferous about it; they are constantly educating people about the threats of global warming. There are different green concepts invented and green autos are one of them. I did some research on these vehicles and found that they aren’t as green as you think.

People who are concerned about global warming say that people should use green autos but what are they anyways? And do they indeed play a big role in slowing down global warming? There are two types of green cars available in the market right now – hybrid cars and electric cars. The latter is not that eco friendly as the name suggests. For running the green autos, you have to charge it in the power station which converts 30 to 40 percent of energy in to electricity. When this electricity it transferred to the electric car from the station, 30% of it is lost through the electric cables. Thus you see, a lot of energy is lost when the power is transferred. The only ‘green’ feature of these automobiles is that they don’t emit any air pollution but they are not energy efficient as the hype suggests.

The hybrid vehicles, on the other hand, are preferred by many motorists. These green autos come with both gas engine and electric motor. These vehicles are much better than electric siblings and they are much more environmental friendly. But there is still room for more technological research for these hybrid cars.

Recently, a British automobile magazine tested four different hybrid vehicles by driving them throughout London. All four performed below expectations and the magazine said that there is more needed to be done here. The hybrid motorcars are not that green either because the batteries need to be disposed of. They are not biodegradable and hence pose a threat to mother Earth. These vehicles are relatively expensive as compared to standard fuel based cars. I won’t recommend buying these green autos at least at this time because there is plenty of research to be done here to make these cars better.

To sum it up, I would say that the green autos are quite similar to hybrid and pure electric automobiles when it comes to power consumption. Disposition is still a matter of concern and the high price tag is out of reach for most people. But I think the price will come down in the future and then these automobiles will compete with the standard fuel based ones in the market. AlsoBusiness Management Articles, these vehicles are not a good solution to the issue of global warming. Only air pollution problem is taken care of but a lot of energy is still wasted.

The Extended Driving Test - Regaining Your Driving Licence

When you have passed your driving test after taking driving lessons in Nottingham and your driving licence is revoked for whatever reason you may be ordered by the courts to take the Extended driving test in order to regain it. Many people who lose their licence have never taken driving lessons, having been taught exclusively by friends and family or indeed may never have passed a driving test at all. This article gives advice on preparing for the extended driving test.
The Extended driving test is much more demanding than the normal L test, lasting 70 minutes instead of the usual 40 minutes and covering a more diverse route including high speed dual carriageways. You will need to train for this with one of the driving schools in Nottingham. Emphasis will be placed on the driver's ability to concentrate for the full duration of the test and attention will be paid to the overall attitude of the drive. Demonstration of one manoeuvre and the emergency stop will be included on the test. You must prove to the examiner that you are capable of driving safely with due consideration for other road users.
Concentrating for this length of time can be a difficult task especially if you have never had any formal driver training, the mind tends to wander during driving and this seems more the case with people who have never had driving lessons. When this is combined with an attitude where the candidate believes they are already a good driver and have been victimised by the police and courts it can be a real obstacle to improving your standard of driving.
If you have been taught by someone other than a qualified driving instructor you may have a lack of understanding of the rules of the road. This lack of knowledge, particularly of the meanings of signs and road markings can result in your breaking the law unwittingly and incurring points on your licence. A poorly maintained vehicle can lead to infringements such as driving with brake lights out or with worn tyres. Other areas you may fall foul of the law are insurance and licensing requirements. The vehicle must be insured for you to drive and you must hold a full driving licence if unaccompanied.
To prepare for the extended driving test you will definitely need lessons from an experienced professional. Don't be resistant towards what an instructor has to teach you. Ask questions on anything you feel you don't understand to get full benefit from your training. Remember an Instructor is there to help you, not to judge your previous driving habits so relax and enjoy the lessons.
Make sure that the car you intend to drive is roadworthy. Check all lights are working, check tyres have the minimum legal tread depth. Maintenance questions are included on the test so take an interest in the workings of your vehicle. If you can carry out your own maintenance checks it will save you money in the long run and make your driving more enjoyable. Remember that driving should be a pleasure for you and others. Drive courteously and remember it is not a competitionArticle Submission, be nice to other drivers and chances are they will be nice to you.
The 'New Driver' act affects any new driver who gets acquires 6 or more penalty points within 2 years of passing the driving test. The license is automatically revoked by the DVLA and the driver is reverted back to a provisional license. Both the theory and practical tests must be passed again and the points gained will stay on the license and count towards any future 'Totting up'. About 14000 new drivers have their licences revoked under this act each year. Take care and make sure that you aren't one of them.
